Scheme: Saakalyam – Enhancing sustainable employment for Transgender Persons
Societies are gender diverse but inability of the human minds in consonance with conservatism has systematically excluded gender diverse communities from the mainstream. Learning to be inclusive is a much needed method of deconstructing the myths and misconceptions related to gender and sexuality. Saakalyam, a scheme of the Social Justice Department and implemented by KYLA, aims to enhance sustainable employment opportunities by providing state-of-the-art vocational training to transgender persons. The real challenge is to make the workplaces inclusive for all communities to work, thrive and live a dignified life, for which, Saakalyam will be rolled out as a scheme under the PRISM – Inclusion Project of KYLA, which aims to promote inclusive workplaces. Transgender persons include all gender diverse communities under the ambit of Section 2 (k) of the Transgender Persons’ (Protection of Rights) Act, 2019. Detailed course prospectus is available here.

സമൂഹത്തിൽ ഭിന്നതലത്തിലുള്ള ലൈംഗിക സ്വത്വങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ടെങ്കിലും പാരമ്പര്യ ചിന്തകൾ പിന്തുടർന്ന് വരുന്ന ഭൂരിപക്ഷ സമൂഹത്തിൽ വൈവിധ്യമുള്ളവരെ മുഖ്യധാരയിൽ കൊണ്ടുവരുന്നതിൽ വിമുഖതയുണ്ട്. ലിംഗപദവിയും ലിംഗത്വവുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട മിത്തുകളും മിഥ്യാധാരണകളും പുനർനിർമിക്കുന്നതിന് നാം ഈ വിഭാഗങ്ങളെ ഉൾക്കൊള്ളേണ്ടത് അത്യാവശ്യമാണ്. സാമൂഹ്യനീതി വകുപ്പിന്റെ പദ്ധതിയായ സാകല്യം നടപ്പാക്കിയത് കൈലയാണ്. ട്രാൻസ്ജെന്റർ വ്യക്തികൾക്ക് വ്യാവസായിക പരിശീലനം നൽകിക്കൊണ്ട് സുസ്ഥിര തൊഴിലവസരങ്ങൾ വർധിപ്പിക്കുകയാണ് ഇതിന്റെ ലക്ഷ്യം. എല്ലാ വിഭാഗങ്ങൾക്കും ജോലി ചെയ്യാനും അഭിവൃദ്ധി പ്രാപിക്കാനും മാന്യമായ ജീവിതം നയിക്കാനും സാധിക്കുന്ന തരത്തിൽ തൊഴിലിടങ്ങളെ ഉൾക്കൊള്ളൽ ശേഷിയുള്ളതാക്കി മാറ്റുന്നതാണ് പ്രായോഗിക വെല്ലുവിളി. ഇതിനായി, കൈലയുടെ ഇൻക്ലൂഷൻ പദ്ധതിയായ പ്രിസത്തിന് കീഴിൽ സാകല്യം പദ്ധതിയെ വികസിപ്പിക്കും. എല്ലാ വിഭാഗങ്ങളെയും ഉൾക്കൊള്ളുന്ന ജോലിസ്ഥലങ്ങൾ പ്രോൽസാഹിപ്പിക്കുകയാണ് അതിന്റെ ലക്ഷ്യം. ട്രാൻസ്ജെന്റർ വ്യക്തികളുടെ (അവകാശ സംരക്ഷണം) നിയമം, 2019ന്റെ വകുപ്പ് 2(കെ) പ്രകാരം ലിംഗവൈവിധ്യമുള്ള എല്ലാ സമൂഹങ്ങളും ട്രാൻസ്ജെന്റർ വ്യക്തികളിൽ ഉൾപ്പെടുന്നുണ്ട്.
